10.03.2025

On 27th-28th February this year, a large-scale annual international CTF event was held, jointly organized by the author of the YouTube channel John Hammond and the company Snyk. The competition was attended by almost 6,000 users combined in 1,200 teams of different levels of training, united by the idea of improving their skills in ethical hacking. Three prize winners received a prize such as Meta Quest 3 virtual reality headset.

Our team, MMOYD, learned about SNYK Fetch-The-Flag by chance, during the event. Although the competition was originally planned to be held for 12 hours, a large number of technical problems caused the time extension  to 24 hours.

There were 7 categories of tasks: Warmups, Binary Exploitation, Reverse Engineering, Web, Cryptography, Scripting and Forensics.

The participants of the MMOYD team, students of the cybersecurity educational program at LNU:

– Yuriy Bobersky

– Dmytro Rebets

– Orest Sidlyar

– Mykola Biloshapka

– Maksym Pidkivka

took 88th place out of 1200, solving 21 tasks out of 30.

We congratulate our students on the excellent result of the competition and wish them new achievements!
